Michigan Community Blood Centers, a nonprofit community blood bank, provides 100 percent of the regular blood supply for all Lakeland Regional Health System facilities, and accepts blood donations at mobile blood drives thoughout Berrien County as well as at the Community Donor Center at Lakeland's Center for Outpatient Services in St. Joseph. Statewide, Michigan Community Blood Centers provides the blood supply for hospitals in four major regions with acombined population exceeding 1.5 million. As a member of America's Blood Centers, Michigan Community Blood Centers belongs to a network of community blood banks throughout north America that together provice 50 percent of the US blood supply and 100% of the Canadian blood supply.
